What better to start the new year than an amazing auto show in Canada? Many people usually wonder if there are many cars to see in Canada. Still, this auto show has always told people otherwise. From Japanese domestic cars, to hypercars the 2024 Canadian International Autoshow had them all. This is a blog about my experience at the auto show and don’t worry the blog will be filled with pictures of the cars that were there for anyone that missed it.
Chapter 1: Getting Up ET: 8:15 AM
I woke up to the amazing sunshine, and the sound of birds happy chirping. Then I realized I would go to the auto show today. Hopping out of bed, I quickly drove to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. The Hotwheels shop on level L200 first greeted me, and I bought a few Hotwheels premiums. That is where I also grabbed a magazine about the event and took a quick skim of the store.
Chapter 2: Level L300 ET: 12 AM
Level 300 hundred welcomed me by showing off 2 full-carbon Pagani hypercars and a Mercedes Mclaren SLR HDK. There was also quite a bit of activity, like the Hyundai Sim racing, the Hyundai hockey shooting challenge (which I absolutely crushed) and the Camp Jeep ride, Which sadly I couldn’t get on because of the huge lines. The Hyundai station featured tons of their new concept Hyundai N sports cars. Other brands included KIA, Subaru, Nissan (which was sort of disappointing), Infiniti, Fisker, Genesis, Tesla, Vinfast and a few more.
Chapter 3: Level L600, L700 and L800 ET: 2 PM
I took a bridge to the other building and took a quick bite at the restaurant. ON level L700 I took a look behind the stairs, and I saw the sim racing area, but further behind was an area that was filled with tons of modified Japanese cars and even a specially modified Porsche RWB. Speaking of which on the same level there was a room dedicated to Porsche cars. Some highlights include the Porsche 911 Dakar, the Porsche Vision Gran Turismo and the Porsche 911 GT3 RS. The grand touring automobiles were another highlight, in the room was the one and only Rimac Nevera, the Bugatti Chiron, and a lot more. The turning display for the Rimac Nevera gave the car quite a bit of attention from the spectators. The Lego company also made its appearance at this auto show, letting people create tiny mosaics using Lego and then putting it on a bigger mural to complete an image. Sadly mine was an error piece and couldn’t fit the space in the wall. Going deeper into L800, there was an EV test track, and other brands like Lexus, Cadillac, Lincoln, Ford, Volvo, Chevrolet, Buick, Toyota, the newly founded Polestar and more. The Ford area was everything but disappointing and was also the largest section.
Chapter 3: Level 100 ET: 5 PM
Taking another look at the map before I left I saw that I somehow missed a whole level. So I made my way to the level. Just like the name of the room suggests in the “Exotica part” the only cars there were mostly only, and it was nothing short of jaw-dropping. Even the 1980 Lamborghini Countach and the well-known Lotus company. On the same level, the Ferrari Classiche which is presented by Ferarri of Ontario made quite a show for us spectators. The room incorporated many of Ferarris’s Most famous cars like the F40.
Chapter 4: Departure ET: 7 PM
Sadly this marks the end of the 2024 Canadian Autoshow. It was an amazing auto show, although it was not perfect, but was a great recovery from last year’s Autoshow. Would I go next year? Definitely! And so should you! More pictures at the bottom!
